Ageing Trees

Having started the Habitat Survey, I started to look into how to measure the age of a tree. You don't, thankfully, always have a felled tree trunk to count the rings from. The common method seems to be measuring the circumference of the tree about 1m up from the ground, then divide the girth by 2.5, which will give you a rough idea of its age. There are also multiple apps that give a more accurate estimate, based on the tree genus and it's growth rate.
