A 4 mile walk there and back along a well defined, resin bound tow path. Starting from the historical Sydney Gardens eventually reaching the village of Bathampton. The canal is bordered with a variety of architecture from Georgian to modernist new builds. There’s a stark contrast between the affluent housing (one built for the man who invented plasticine) along one side to the boat community on the other. The canal has Salic sepulchralis (weeping willow) dotted all the way along, dipping into the water. A very tranquil pathway..
