Whilst evaluating my plans and visions for the future once finishing my BA, I have been trying to find practises with connections to the above collective.
Human displacement caused by war and disasters, unsustainable urbanisation & climate change continually affect the world's most vulnerable, forcing people to live in dangerous, unhealthy and unliveable conditions. The Humanitarian Landscape Architecture Collective, co-founded by Rhys Jones, a Landscape Architect at Alexandra Steed URBAN and alumni of University of Gloucestershire, seeks to share knowledge and awareness about how the landscape can play a major role in humanitarian work. The Collective's aim is to bring together Landscape Architects, Students, NGOs and other built-environment practitioners to help build resilient cities and improve peoples lives globally.
My aim is to use my degree and experience and find a role that can help improve peoples' lives, either in the UK or in other countries. I intend to spend the next chapter of my working life doing something worthwhile.
