Pittville Park

Pittville Park, Cheltenham is an expansive, historical park first opened in 1825. Starting at the Pump Room gave me a real sense of privilege during the Regency period. Open to the public to take the waters being a fashionable past time of the middle classes. Now the Pump Rooms, a council run property, is a vibrant hub (before Lockdown!) offering a cafe, function rooms and a place for people to meet. Every time I've been there a different exercise class has been running: tai chi, fitness for parents with pushchairs, organised walking group etc. It was quite restful sitting where the main steps used to be, drawing the vista of beautiful trees. It was really motivating seeing how many different people use the park and having briefly looked at some background, how well its supported (Friends of Pittville). It also has a good write up and reviews on Tripadvisor! The trees were one of the highlights for me...
