Plastic Flowers?

I've always had a mixed reaction to plastic flowers, I once visited a garden belonging to full-time working mum, who had filled her garden completely with plastic flowers, shrubs and lawn. Surreal, is the best way I can describe it, but she loved it and the children used it.
This morning when I arrived at Bristol Temple Meads Station, I found the station had, had a refit.... see what you think?

I started to look for examples and images of biophyllic interiors of railway stations and here's the most fantastic example. I've been to Madrid many times, but have never been through the Atocha Station, next time I will make a point of it.

I imagine that whoever came up with the plastic flowers had the best intentions, limited budget and no prospect of a maintenance regime and therefore, this was their best solution?
