Sketchbook work this week

We are starting to develop our concept for Design 3/ semester 2. A 1:500 design for a segment of Alney Island. I have been investigating and struck by the concept of what driftwood, flotsam & jetsam are and its relationship with the River Severn, which engulfs Alney Island. During the early development stage I was reminded of an incident in 2012, when a ship transporting timber from Russia, capsized and all its timber washed ashore along parts of the Sussex coastline. I also found images of a boat graveyard, just south of Alley Island, where several boats have been jettisoned to reinforce the river banks.
